BELOVED CHILDREN
Ephesians 5:1
Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children.
Sound doctrine matters! And changes how we live our life. It’s not only for our heads, it also for our hearts. Paul picks up the theme of Chapter One again Chapter Five and unfolds its practical themes. As believers, we now have two roles.
- You are an imitator
- You are a beloved child
This command is unique -- to be like God, our Father. Commanded to imitate Him. How can we imitate Him? Is this an impossible challenge?
Everything in the Christian life is impossible apart from God, the Holy Spirit. He equips us. Eph. 2:10 reminds us that we are given new life by Him. And he prepares for the works we are to do.
