In today’s text, Mark presents us yet a pair of complementary stories. In them, Jesus ministers to two women - one, a twelve year old girl on the edge of death, and a woman with an incurable illness desperate for healing and a new life. In both situations, the parties are out of options, and Jesus seems their last option. They both come to the realization that Jesus is their only hope, and Mark wants us to see that this statement is made by saving faith.
What similarities exist between both stories?
Two Points
- A man’s only hope. (Mark 5:21-24,35-43)
- A woman’s only hope. (Mark 5:24-34)
