Forsaken by God

In Mark 15:33-39, we look at Jesus’s death on a shameful Cross where we see not the wisdom of man but the Wisdom of God. The Cross exhibits the foolishness of men. 

Mark’s record is a story of Christ, a centurion, and you - yes you! - and it requires a response from us. While the world’s wisdom is self-suffering, God’s Wisdom is confessing our sins and relying on God.

Four Responses to Christ’s Death

1. Accept His death as a dark, terrifying mystery. 
2. Answer Jesus’s question.
3. Acknowledge His true, divine identity.
4. Announce the Son to the world.
