Twenty Lessons Learned in 2020
- We cannot boast about tomorrow. (James 4:13-17)
- God does not need me to advance His Kingdom. (2 Corinthians 4:7)
- Sound doctrine does not guarantee saving faith. (James 2:19)
- The hard sayings of Jesus must not be put aside. (2 Peter 3:15)
- Faithfulness to gather with God’s people is more important than life. (Hebrews 10:24)
- Contentment is more valuable than comfort. (Hebrews 13:5; Philippians 4:11-13)
- My holiness is not just about me. (James 5:16)
- The church moves forward on its knees.
- God may bring more good out of 2020 than we can imagine.
- All that takes place on Sunday is irreplaceable.
- Your government is God’s servant. (Romans 13:1)
- Jesus’ imminent return should change how we live.
- Buildings and property are an advantage to the church.
- The Psalms are not worn out enough in our lives.
- The tongue is powerful. (James 1:26)
- We know too little of church history.
- We can always make better use of our time. (Psalm 90:10)
- Your trials keep you from ruin.
- Sickness brings great spiritual benefits.
- Nothing will separate us from the love of Christ. (Romans 8:35)
