A Portrayal of the Cost

Mark intends to show that Jesus the Son of God, and he wants us to be disciples of Christ. Mark also wants to point out that there is a cost to following Christ, and even Christ pays the price for setting out this path. Right after selecting His disciples, Christ endures these trials. Knowing that there is a high cost to do so, will you still follow Christ?

1. Jesus’s family attempts to dominate Him. (Mark 3:20-21, 31-35)
2. Religious leaders attempt to discredit Jesus. (Mark 3:22-30)
