A Portrayal of the Cost
Passage: Mark 3:20–3:35
Mark intends to show that Jesus the Son of God, and he wants us to be disciples of Christ. Mark also wants to point out that there is a cost to following Christ, and even Christ pays the price for setting out this path. Right after selecting His disciples, Christ endures these trials. Knowing that there is a high cost to do so, will you still follow Christ?
Jesus’s Trials After Selecting His Disciples
- Jesus’s family attempts to dominate Him. (Mark 3:20-21, 31-35)
- Religious leaders attempt to discredit Jesus. (Mark 3:22-30)
