A Time to Rejoice

Speaker: Jason Whitley Series: The Gospel According to Mark Scripture: Mark 2:18– 3:6

So far, Mark has used this gospel (probably Peter’s recounting) to show Jesus’s ability to forgive sinners. He healed the leper (Mark 1:40-45), forgave and healed the paralytic (Mark 2:1-12), and called a tax collector to follow Him (Mark 2:13-17). But, all of this upsets the Jewish religious leaders. Why would anyone be upset by Christ’s forgiveness of sin? Mark uses the next few verses to show us the following:

Two Points Mark Shows

  1. Jesus is the Bridegroom. (Mark 2:18-20)
  2. Jesus is the Lord of the Sabbath. (Mark 2:23-26)
