Psalm 119, the longest chapter in the Bible, is an intriguing and purposeful book. Hailed as a collection of “176 verses that contain no idle word”, it is cherished by many, and avoided by not a few. This chapter is a prolonged exultation on the excellence and the benefits of the Word. All its verses focus on the Word and the God of the Word, but 169 of the 176 verses speak directly to the Word of God. In short, this chapter honors God and exults His Word. It also reveal the relationship of the author to the Word of God. This author - the man behind the Psalm - has a lot to teach us, and we will do well to learn what set him apart.

- He lives according to God’s Word.
- He loathes wandering from God’s Word.
- He leans on God’s Word during affliction.
